#16: Tiles for Miles
Since the last time I posted, we got busy finishing the barndo’s laundry room and bathroom. One of the first things Nick did was texturize the sheetrock before we could paint, and he waterproofed the shower with a passionate pink that will never see the light of day.
We installed the water heater and placed a utility sink on the exterior wall of the laundry room.

We painted both the laundry room and bathroom a grayish-blue color: Sherwin Williams “Jubilee.” Hmmm... that’s an awful lot like our boat name, Felicity. We want nothin’ but happiness and celebration, apparently! The laundry room came together pretty quickly. I had the role of tile cutter, which was really satisfying. Here’s the laundry room:
The bathroom was quite a bit more time consuming, considering there were many more tiles, and the waves in the shower tiles needed to be lined up, so it required my full attention to which sides I should cut. Nick also had to stay laser-focused:

Nick laid the floor tiles and hung the shower door like a champ.

The days kept marching on, as they do, but we were almost done with the bathroom! We celebrated our progress on a Saturday night with Nick’s yummy daiquiris, hoppin’ music, and fierce rounds of table tennis.
Finally, in mid-October, the bathroom was complete!

Now, where were we with that boat? . . .
