#19: Hull-o!
Before Thanksgiving 2024, we put together the provided temporary forms that would enable us to shape the bottom of the two hulls. Thankfully, they came together fairly easily. Nick glued parts of the MDF to the concrete floor to keep the template from moving.
Since the panels of the 49-foot boat had to be divided in order to fit in the 40-foot shipping container, our next step was to glue the long hull pieces together. On December 5, we started placing our hull panels onto the MDF template.

We screwed, strapped, and clamped the hull parts together.

Next up: epoxy day (similar in excitement to concrete day)! We blended up what looked to be a perfect thickness of epoxy and filled the first hull’s holes. We don’t mind a holy hull, but a holey hull is unacceptable!

By December 22, I found Nick sanding since we had two hulls ready after a couple of epoxy passes per hull. En garde!
Christmas was soon upon us, and we delighted in getting together with family once more before getting back to the boat build. Cheers to a hull of a 2025, y’all!
